Αμαλία Αβραάμ/Amalia Avraam

Η Αμαλία είναι ασκούμενη δικηγόρος. Είναι κάτοχος πτυχίου νομικής από το Εθνικό και Καποδιστριακό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών και μεταπτυχιακού τίτλου LLM International Commercial Law από το πανεπιστήμιο City στο Λονδίνο.

️Από τα μαθητικά της χρόνια η Αμαλία έχει λάβει μέρος σε Ευρωπαϊκά προγράμματα όπως το Erasmus + ‘‘Together for a green Europe’’. Τα κύρια της ενδιαφέροντα είναι η διπλωματία, το διεθνές δίκαιο και τα ανθρώπινα δικαιώματα. Σε ηλικία 19 ετών πραγματοποίησε πρακτική άσκηση στο Υπουργείο Εξωτερικών, στην Διεύθυνση Κυπριακού και Τουρκίας.

Μεταξύ άλλων, έχει λάβει μέρος στην 4η Βουλή των Νέων Αντιπροσώπων, συγκεκριμένα στην Επιτροπή Περιβάλλοντος. Διετέλεσε αντιπρόεδρος της επιτροπής Εξωτερικών Υποθέσεων του Ευρωπαϊκού Κοινοβουλίου Κυπρίων Νέων. Είχε την ευκαιρία να συμμετάσχει στο “Youth Peace Camp 2023″ το οποίο διοργανώθηκε από το Συμβούλιο της Ευρώπης στο Στρασβούργο, στο οποίο συμμετείχαν νέοι από χώρες που βρίσκονται σε μεταπολεμικό στάδιο. Συμμετέχει επίσης στο πρόγραμμα “Young Leaders United for Democracy” υπό την αιγίδα της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης εκπροσωπώντας τον Κ.Ο.ΚΕ.Ν. Επιπρόσθετα, συμμετείχε κατά καιρούς σε δράσεις του DCY όπως το “EastMed Youth Ambassadors.”

Η Αμαλία οραματίζεται μια ειρηνική Κύπρο στην οποία θα ακμάζει η διπλωματία και η εξέλιξη, πάντα με την ουσιαστική συμβολή των νέων ως κινητήρια δύναμη.

Amalia is a Trainee Lawyer. She holds a Law degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a Master’s degree in International Commercial Law from City University in London.

Since her high school years, Amalia has participated in European programs such as Erasmus+ “Together for a Green Europe.” Her main interests include diplomacy, international law, and human rights. At the age of 19, she completed an internship at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, specifically in the Cyprus Question and Turkey Department.

Among other things, she took part in the 4th Cyprus Youth Parliament, particularly in the Environmental Committee. She served as the Vice President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament of Cypriot Youth. She had the opportunity to participate in the “Youth Peace Camp 2023,” organised by the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, where young people from post-conflict countries participated. She is also involved in the program “Young Leaders United for Democracy,”supported by the European Union, representing the C.Y.C.O. Additionally, she participated in various activities of DCY, such as “EastMed Youth Ambassadors.”

Amalia envisions a peaceful Cyprus where diplomacy and progress thrive, always with the substantial contribution of young people as a driving force.

Αθανασία Κωνσταντίνου/Athanasia Konstantinou

Ονομάζομαι Αθανασία Κωνσταντίνου και είμαι η Υπεύθυνη Δημοσίων Σχέσεων του Cyprus Youth DiplomaCY. Έχω αποφοιτήσει από το Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου το 2015 με πτυχίο στις Ευρωπαϊκές σπουδές και Σύγχρονες γλώσσες. Συνέχισα τις σπουδές μου με μάστερ στις Πολιτικές Επιστήμες με κατεύθυνση την Ευρωπαϊκή πολιτική (2018). Κατά τη διάρκεια της Κυπριακής Προεδρίας της Επιτροπής Υπουργών του Συμβουλίου της Ευρώπης (Νοε 2016 – Μάης 2017) συμμετείχα ως εθελόντρια Liaison Officer. Επίσης συμμετείχα ως Επικεφαλής της Ομάδας των Δημοσιογράφων κατά τη διάρκεια της 1ης, 2ης και 3ης Βουλής των Νέων Αντιπροσώπων, μιας πρωτοβουλίας που υλοποιήθηκε με τη συνεργασία Cyprus Youth DiplomaCY και Συμβουλίου Νεολαίας Κύπρου. «Γίνε εσύ η αλλαγή που θες να δεις στον κόσμο» (Μ. Γκάντι) είναι το αγαπημένο μου απόφθεγμα. Αυτό αποτελεί και το κίνητρο μου για να συμμετέχω στην ομάδα του Cyprus Youth DiplomaCY. Πιστεύω πως οι νέοι μέσω της συμμετοχής τους στο Cyprus Youth DiplomaCY μπορούν να γίνουν οι ίδιοι η θετική αλλαγή που επιθυμούν να δουν στην κυπριακή κοινωνία και τον κόσμο!

My name is Athanasia Konstantinou and I am Public Relation Officer at Cyprus Youth DiplomaCY. I have graduated  from the University of Cyprus in 2015 with a bachelor in European studies and Modern languages. Then, I continued my studies and I obtained a master degree in European Politics (2018). During the Cyprus Chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (Nov 2016 – May 2017) I have participated as Volunteer Liaison Officer. In addition, I was Head of the Press Team during 1^st ,2nd and 3rd round of Cyprus Youth Parliament, an initiative organized by  our organization Cyprus Youth DiplomaCY and Cyprus Youth Council. “Be the change you want to see in the world’’ (M.Gandhi) is my favorite quote and my motivation to participate in the amazing team of Cyprus Youth DiplomaCY. I believe that young people through their participation in Cyprus Youth DiplomaCY, can become the positive change they want to see in the society.

Ζήνωνας Σωκράτους/ Zinonas Sokratous 

Ονομάζομαι Ζήνωνας Σωκράτους και είμαι o Υπεύθυνος Δημοσίων Σχέσεων του Cyprus Youth DiplomaCY. Είμαι μεταπτυχιακός φοιτητής στο Τμήμα Ιστορίας και Αρχαιολογίας στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου. Σπούδασα Ιστορία και Αρχαιολογία στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου και αποφοίτησα το 2015. Είμαι ενεργό μέλος του Cyprus Youth Diplomacy από το 2016 και είχα τη χαρά και τη τιμή να εκπροσωπήσω τον οργανισμό σε διάφορες διοργανώσεις, διαλέξεις, φόρα και συνέδρια.

Με ενδιαφέρει ιδιαίτερα η διπλωματία, τα ζητήματα ευρωπαϊκής εξωτερικής πολιτικής και οι πολιτικές εξελίξεις ανά το παγκόσμιο. Ως ΜΚΟ το Cyprus Youth Diplomacy δίνει σημαντικές ευκαιρίες σε όλους τους νέους της Κύπρου.

My name is Zinonas Sokratous and I am the Public Relations Officer of Cyprus Youth Diplomacy. I am postgraduate student at the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Cyprus. I am studying Mediterranean Archaeology with specialization in maritime archaeology. I studied History and Archaeology in the University of Cyprus and I graduated in 2015. I am active member of Cyprus Youth Diplomacy since 2016 and I was pleased and honored to represent the organization in various events, lectures, forums and conferences.

I am particularly interested in diplomacy, European foreign policy issues and political developments around the world. As an NGO, Cyprus Youth Diplomacy gives important opportunities for the young people of Cyprus.

Ρένα Φιλίππου/Rena Filippou

Ονομάζομαι Ρένα Φιλίππου, είμαι η Υπεύθυνη Δημοσίων Σχέσεων του Cyprus Youth DiplomaCY και κατάγομαι από την Λεμεσό. Σπούδασα Πολιτικές Επιστήμες στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Essex και συνέχισα τις Μεταπτυχιακές μου Σπουδές στις Διεθνείς Σχέσεις στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου. Κύρια πεδία ενδιαφέροντος μου είναι η διπλωματία, θέματα γεωπολιτικής και περιβαλλοντικής πολιτικής. Η τρίμηνη πρακτική άσκηση στο Υπουργείο Εξωτερικών καθώς και η συμμετοχή μου στην Προσομοίωση των Ηνωμένων Εθνών στην Νέα Υόρκη, μου έδωσαν την ευκαιρία να καταλάβω πως οι ακαδημαϊκές θεωρίες εφαρμόζονται στην πράξη. Τον ελεύθερο μου χρόνο ασχολούμαι με αερόβια άσκηση, μου αρέσει να ταξιδεύω και να περνώ χρόνο με καλούς φίλους.

My name is Rena Filippou and I am coming from Limassol. I have a bachelor degree in Politics from University of Essex and a Master’s degree in the field of International Relations from University of Cyprus. Main fields of interests are diplomacy, geo-politics as well as environmental politics. I had the chance to work for three months in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and also to attend the Model United Nations in New York in April 2014. These two events were crucial in order to understand how theory works in practice. During my free time I am doing athletic activities, I love to travel and spend time with good friends.

Πάνος Χριστοφόρου/Panos Christoforou

Ονομάζομαι Πάνος Χριστοφόρου και κατάγομαι από τη Λεμεσό. Ο κύκλος των σπουδών μου άρχισε και τελείωσε (τουλάχιστο μέχρι τη δεδομένη στιγμή) στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου. Συγκεκριμένα, αφότου απέκτησα πτυχίο Κοινωνιολογίας διολίσθησα στο μεταπτυχιακό Πολιτικής Επιστήμης, ειδίκευση Διεθνείς Σχέσεις. Βλέπετε, καθώς ο άνθρωπος μεγαλώνει και εντάσσεται όλο και περισσότερο στην κοινωνία, η όποια ροπή προς πολιτικοποίηση μετατρέπεται σε ανάγκη. Όταν δε αντιλαμβάνεται πως η πραγματικότητα στην οποία ζει δεν αποτελεί τίποτα περισσότερο από μια σταγόνα στο ρουν της παγκόσμιας αλληλουχίας,  είναι τότε που η αυτογνωσία σου επιβάλλει να διευρύνεις την οπτική σου πέρα από τον ορίζοντα του ‘‘εσωτερικού’’. Κατά τη διάρκεια των φοιτητικών μου χρόνων είχα την τιμή και ευκαιρία να συμμετέχω σε δύο προσομοιώσεις των Ηνωμένων Εθνών. Μπορεί να αποτελούσαν μια έκφραση της διπλωματίας, ωστόσο για μένα διπλωματία δεν είναι μια στενή έννοια που αιωρείται μονάχα στη διακρατική σφαίρα, αλλά μια πρακτική της καθημερινότητας˙αφηστιγμής ο πυρήνας των κοινωνικών σχέσεων αποτελούν οι διαπροσωπικές σχέσεις, όπου τα άτομα ενσαρκώνουν ρόλους, τότε ναι, η διπλωματία ανάγεται σε άρρηκτη πρακτική. Αυτή ακριβώς η πεποίθηση με οδήγησε να ενταχθώ στην προσπάθεια του Cyprus Youth DiplomaCY, όπου και ανέλαβα τη νευραλγική θέση των Δημοσίων Σχέσεων (χωρίς να θέλω να υποτιμήσω τις άλλες θέσεις,ε!). Οι νέοι έχουμε και θέληση και φωνή και δύναμη˙μπορούμε να διεκδικήσουμε το μέλλον που μας ανήκει. Αυτό που επιχειρείται από το Cyprus Youth DiplomaCY είμαι σίγουροςπως σύντομα θα αναχθεί σε δυναμικό φορέα για τη νεολαία και όχι μόνο.

My name is Panos Christoforou. I was born in Limassol. The circle of my studiesstarted and was completed (well,at least for the time being) at the University of Cyprus. To be more accurate, after acquiring a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, I ‘‘slipped’’ at the Master’s degree in Political Science, specialization International Relations. As the individual grows up and is being integrated in the social structure, any inclination towards politicization becomes a need. Thus, by the time it realizes that the reality it lives in it is nothing more than a mere drop in the flow of global concatenation, self-awareness commands that we looked even further than the local horizon. During my student yearsI had the honour to participate in two Model United Nation. Surely, these conferences were an representational form of diplomacy, however, in my view ,diplomacy is not a notion floating strictly in the sphere of inter-national relations, but also a practice in everyday life; since the core of social relations consists of interpersonal relations, where the individuals play various roles, yes, diplomacy mounts to personal, continuous practice. The aforementioned belief urged me becoming part of the enterprise the Cyprus Youth Diplomacy has undertaken, holding the post of Public Relations Representative. Young people do have will, strong voice and power;we can claim the future we deserve! What the Cyprus Youth DiplomaCY has set as an object, I am convinced that it will soon become a dynamic group for the youth and even more!
