Evgenia Chamilou

Public Relations Officer

Evgenia Chamilou is a Pupil Advocate specialising in Public International Law and Human Rights. She studied Law at the University of Warwick (2017-2020) and holds an LLM Master of Laws with specialism in Public International Law from The London School of Economics and Political Science (2021). From 2021 to date, she has worked at the European Parliament, the European Court of Human Rights – Council of Europe in Strasbourg and the International Law Department at the Law Office of the Republic of Cyprus – Office of the Attorney General.

She was one of the first members of Cyprus Youth DiplomaCY, having joined our diplomatic team in 2015 as a high school student. In fact, she previously participated in the Eastern Mediterranean for Cooperation and Security Programme as a Youth Ambassador (2020-2021) and in 2021-2023 she served as Public Relations Officer. Evgenia represented the youth in numerous international fora abroad, including as the Youth Delegate of Cyprus in the Youth4Climate initiative with her participation in the Pre-COP26 (Milan), COP26 (Glasgow) and the 77th UN General Assembly (New York).

She was also a Youth Representative of Cyprus to the UN Assembly on Youth and Sustainable Development Goals (2016), the Delegate of Cyprus at Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe (2020 and 2021), the 5th President of the House of Young Representatives (2021-2022) and has a wealth of experience in UN Simulation Models, including at Harvard, St Petersburg, Cambridge, Oxford and others with many distinctions. Finally, she is a UN Youth Champion for Environment and Peace and co-founder of the Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) Cyprus initiative which is recognised by the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Due to her actions from a young age, she was awarded by the Queen Elizabeth’s Jubilee Trust as an Associate Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society.
