Evie Theocharous

Evie is a political scientist and holds a BA in European Studies and French from the University of Reading and an MSc in Political Science from UCL and is currently pursuing a second MA at the University of Cyprus. She works at a research centre for politics based in Nicosia that conducts studies and research and formulates policy proposals based on scientific evidence.
Her main interest is the promotion of the role of young people in society and until recently she was appointed by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe as the youth delegate of Cyprus. Among other things, she successfully developed the first project aimed at empowering the role of young people in crisis management in Cyprus. She was recently appointed by the United Nations as a UN Youth Champion for Environment and Peace.
At the age of twenty, she completed her internship at the European Parliament in Brussels (General Secretariat) and later at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus where she worked directly with the Crisis Management Centre and the General Secretariat. In addition, she collaborated with the “Caritas” confederation in European programs aimed at achieving the integration of immigrants in society. She is a member of various Boards of Directors, and her weakness is horse riding.
